Does the wireless work inside the building?
September 13, 2010
The Simply Bits wireless network is a WiMax-like network not a WiFi network. WiFi, or 802.11b/g, is good for indoor networks and coffee shops. WiFi has the following problems when used outdoors:
- Works in the 2.4 GHz band which is extremely noisy.
- WiFi is a cooperative access system, so there is no predictive timing of packets. Multiple clients can easily step on each other and cause data loss, high latency, and poor throughput.
- WiFi suffers from many security vulnerabilities.
If you want WiFi in your business, Simply Bits can provide that using additional equipment located inside your business.
