Simply Bits to Provide Free Wi-Fi at Tucson Toros Baseball Games
Hi Corbett Field becomes third ‘Wireless Wonder’
Tucson, Ariz. (May 12, 2010) – Simply Bits, a Tucson-based provider of network communications, has designated Hi Corbett Field, 3400 E. Camino Campestre, as one of the Seven Wireless Wonders of Tucson, labeling the baseball stadium as one of the area’s most desirable Wi-Fi hotspot locations.
Simply Bits, in collaboration with the Tucson Toros baseball club, wants to improve the ballgame experience by allowing spectators to access the Internet from their wireless devices during baseball games. The expansion is the third designation of Simply Bits’ Seven Wireless Wonders of Tucson, joining the two previous Simply Bits-sponsored areas, including the Wi-Fi zone at El Presidio Park, 160 W. Alameda St. and La Placita Village, 110 S. Church Ave., both in downtown Tucson.
“We wanted to show our support for the community, local sports fans, and baseball in Tucson by making the public Internet more accessible,” said Bradley Feder, managing member of Simply Bits. “It’s really a great benefit for fans who need connectivity for devices like their laptop or iPhone while they are enjoying the game.”
The free Wi-Fi now available at Hi Corbett Field covers all seating areas inside the stadium. Simply Bits installed and maintains the network at no charge to the Tucson Toros, the City of Tucson or the fans.
The public can nominate any Tucson-area location where customers could benefit from a free Wi-Fi hotspot online at www.SevenWirelessWonders.com . The winning locations will receive a free hotspot and one lucky nominator will receive a free mini-laptop from Simply Bits.
