Emergency Broadband Benefit Program by Simply Bits

Financial support when you need it most

We believe it’s more important than ever that families in need have access to affordable internet, so they can stay connected to family, friends, work and school.

As part of a stimulus bill, the federal government has set aside money for an Emergency Broadband Benefit Program designed to help Americans stay connected to the internet during the pandemic. Eligible households can receive up to $50 off their current internet service, including equipment costs.

Here’s how the EBB program works

We raised our hand without hesitation to help administer the federal government’s program and deliver whatever financial relief is available – for however long – in order to help our customers during this challenging time.

Emergency Broadband

  • What is the Emergency Broadband Benefit Program?

  • What documentation do I need to qualify for the program?

The Emergency Broadband Benefit (“EBB”) is an FCC program to help eligible households pay for internet service during the Covid-19 pandemic. Program benefit is non-transferrable; one per household. The EBB Program will provide a discount of up to $50 per month (up to $75 per month for households on Tribal lands) toward broadband internet service for eligible households. Eligible households can also receive a one-time discount of up to $100 to purchase a laptop or desktop computer if they contribute $10-$50 to the device’s purchase price. A household is eligible for the EBB if: (1) it qualifies for the FCC Lifeline program; (2) it receives benefits under the free and reduced-price school lunch program or the school breakfast program, including through the USDA Community Eligibility Provision, or did so in the 2019-2020 school year; (3) it received a Federal Pell Grant during the current award year; or (4) it experienced a substantial loss of income since February 29, 2020 and the household had a total income in 2020 below $99,000 for single filers and $198,000 for joint filers. The EBB Program will conclude when the fund is expended or six months after the Emergency Period as defined in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, whichever is sooner. You remain responsible for monthly payment to Simply Bits. After EBB, Simply Bit’s regular rates apply. Simply Bits service is subject to the Simply Bits Residential Customer Service Agreement, Acceptable Use Policy, and other policies. All application and eligibility decisions are made by the FCC.
